Police investigate fatal collision west of Ilderton

The driver of a passenger vehicle has died after a crash involving a transport trucknorthwest of London Thursday morning.

Middlesex County OPP said the collisionhappened on Nairn Road at Ilderton Road at approximately 6:45 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries but later died. The driver of the transport trucksustained minor injuries, according to police.

The cause is not yet known, with the area having been cordoned off for the investigation. Narin Road is closed from Evan Drive to Hedley Drive, along withIlderton Road from Bear Creek Road to Coldstream Road.

Police said they planto re-open the area laterThursday afternoon.

The accident site is only a few concessions away from the location of another fatal crash. In July, 2018, seven-year-oldAleiya Hellowell-Hall of Ailsa Craig was killed and five others were taken to hospital after her mother's car collided head-on with a pickup truck.

In that case, the driver of the pick up was charged.
