London police are looking for two men who allegedly broke into a home in Summerside, assaulted a woman, fired a shot at a man and attacked a second man with a gun.

The incident happened just after midnight on Saturday in the southeasternneighbourhood, and police say they do not believe it was random.

They say four people were inside the Meadowgate Boulevard home when two masked and armed men broke in. Police say the woman was forcibly confined and then assaulted. They say a shot was fired at a male resident, missing him, but alerting a neighbour that something was wrong.

The neighbour called 911, police said. Two residents were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they searched the area and determined some items were stolen from the home. They did not specify what was taken.

They're now asking the public to keep a lookout for the two suspects, one of whom they've identified as a 29-year-old from London.

He's facing nine charges by way of a warrant, including use of a firearm during an indictable offence, assault with a weapon and uttering threats of death or bodily harm.

Police have not identified the second suspect who was wearing a balaclava at the time of the incident.
