Winnipeg will soon be home to three Save-On-Foods grocery stores and the B.C.-based retailer is hoping to eventually have a total of 12 stores in Manitoba.

Winnipeg will soon be home tothree Save-On-Foods grocery stores and theB.C.-based retailer is hoping to eventually have a total of12 stores in Manitoba.

The locations of the three Winnipeg stores wereannounced Thursday morning at a news conference bytheOverwaitea Food Group, which owns the Save-On-Foods chain.

  • Northgate Shopping Centre.
  • St. James Station.
  • Bridgwater Forest townsite.

All three stores will open in 2016 and will be between 40,000 square feet and 65,000 square feet.

Following the announcement, which took place in the parking lot attheNorthgate Shopping CentreonMcPhillipsStreet, representatives from the company handed out bags of free groceries.

They also donated a grocery orderto Winnipeg Harvest executive directorDavid Northcott.
