Some Winnipeggersbraved the chill and drizzle early Friday morning for Agape Table's Thanksgiving feast, featuring ham with all the trimmings.

The lineup began well before the doors opened at 7:45 a.m.for the special meal, which ranuntil 10:30 a.m. at 175 Colony St.

"Every day we're honoured by our guests coming to visit us. Over the years we've formed relationships with them, they've formed relationships amongst themselves, and so this is a big family Thanksgiving dinner," said Dave Cunnin, Agape Table's executive director.

The organization, whichprovides emergency food and clothing to homeless and low-income peoplein the downtown and West Broadway areas, hostsan early Thanksgiving feast among several holiday meals it serves to people in need every year.

Several dozen people braved the chill and drizzle early this morning to wait in line for Agape Table's Thanksgiving feast, featuring ham with all the trimmings.

"This place reminds us to be thankful because many of these folks have very, very little. But the gratitude they show us not just on days like this, but every day is overwhelming," Cunnin said.

This year's offerings include ham, potatoes, other vegetables and pumpkin pie.

Politicians from all three levels of government are among the volunteers serving food on Friday, including Esther Pallister, the wife of Premier Brian Pallister, and MPs Robert-Falcon Ouellette and Lawrence Toet.

Organizers said they expected to feed well over350 people.
