A 21-year-old man faces a slew of charges after an attempted armed robbery in Winnipeg on Thursday night.

A 21-year-old man faces a slew of charges after an attempted armed robbery in Winnipeg on Thursday night.

A man, who was concealing his face, went into a convenience store on the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue armed with a shotgun around 10:45 p.m., police said.

The man pointed the gun at an employee and demanded money. A short confrontation followed, police said, and theman fled from the store without taking anything.

Police said no shots were fired and there were no injuries.

The man was spotted by an officer around 2 a.m. Friday and he was arrested a short time later.

He faces nine charges, including armed robbery and possession of a weapon.
