Farmer, 74, dead after ATV rolls over in western Manitoba

RCMP found a livestock farmer dead in the rural municipality of Swan Valley West Sunday night after his ATV flipped over.

A western Manitoba farmer is dead after his ATV flipped over Sunday night.

RCMPwere called at 6:45 p.m.to Provincial Road 157 West in the rural municipality of Swan Valley West, Man., after reports of a crash.

Officers arrived to find a 74-year-old farmer who was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMPsaid they believe the man was checking on livestock alone on his ATV when the vehicle rolled.

The man wasn't wearing a helmet, RCMP said, adding investigators don't believe alcohol was involved.

Swan Valley West is about 380 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.

The investigation continues.
