Autopsy performed on woman's body pulled from Winnipeg river

Winnipeg police are expected to release more information today about the identity of a woman whose body was pulled from the Red River Thursday evening.

Winnipeg policeare expected to release more information today about the identity of a woman whose body was pulledfrom the Red River Thursday evening.

An autopsy is being completed and police are in the process of notifying the woman's family. Foul play is not suspected, police said.

A passerby discovered the body by the riverbank nearTache Avenue and Provencher Boulevard at around 6 p.m.

That's not far from where Jill Tardiffwent missing from her St. Boniface condo early Monday.

Friends and family of the 61-year old woman have said she suffered from depression and was on medication.

She had been treated for depressionin Seven Oaks Hospital for about a month until being released about a week ago.
