Willy suffered a fracture to his shinbone,as well as a partial ligamenttear in his right knee, during a game in Hamilton on Sunday.

The estimated earliest recovery time for this injury is six to eight weeks, the team said Tuesday.

"Drew's always shown that he's resilient, that he heals fairly quickly. I don't think that pain is a determining factor for him," head coach MikeO'Shea told reporters in Winnipeg.

"I think it's just a matter of making sure that the fracture's healed up and then he's healthy and ready to go."

Willywent down latein the third quarter after taking a hit from Hamilton linebacker Erik Harris. Willy remained on the field clutching his leg before being helped off the field bymedical personnel.

Brian Brohm replaced Willy as the Bombers went on to lose that game 38-8.

O'Shea would notsay who will start for the Bombers in Friday's homegame against theArgonauts, saying he does not want to give the opponent an edge.

Both Brohm and Robert Marve will practise on Wednesday, he said.

The Bombers currently sit in fourth place in the CFL's five-team West Division with a 3-4 record. The regular season is 18 games.
