Winnipeg Blue Bomber Lirim Hajrullahu apologized to fans on Sunday after missing four field goals and a convert the night before.

The Bombers ended up losing to the Edmonton Eskimos by a single point, 24-23.

Hajrullahu didn't speak to media after the game, but instead, he took to Twitter Sunday morning to apologize directly to Bombers fans.

"Yesterday I did not do my job. It was one of the hardest days I've ever experienced because my teammates were putting me in positions to succeed and I failed," he said over a series of tweets.

Hajrullahu also said he knew he had a responsibility to make himself available to the media.

"But I love this team and I loved how they never gave up on me," he said. "I will continue to do everything I can to help us be the reason why we win games. Thank you to everyone for their overwhelming support!"

The Bombers are sitting near the bottom of the West Division, with just four posted wins so far this season and 10 losses.
