Emergency crews called to grass fire and crash west of Brandon
Fire was reported near Highway 1A between Brandon and Kemnay, Man.
Emergency crews were kept busy west of Brandon, Man., on Tuesday afternoon, with firefighters dousing a grass fire just off Highway 1A and paramedics attending to a two-vehicle crash nearby.
Fire crews werecalled to the grass fire at around 3:45 p.m. Tuesdaybetween Brandon andKemnay, Man.
Members ofthe Brandon Fire Department and the Rural Municipality of Whitehead Fire Department dousedhot spots and sprayed foam onto hydro poles to prevent the fire from spreading,saidthe CBC's Riley Laychuk.

Then just after 5 p.m., emergency crews were called to the collision on Highway 1A, metres away from the scene of the grass fire.
The front ends of a car and a pickup truck were damaged in the crash,and vehicles werestopped onthe highwayas crews tended to the scene.
Police officers at the scene did not comment on injuries.
