Brandon police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting at a home in the city in September.

Police believe the boy was part of a group of three people who got into a fight with a couple in the 800 block of 9th Street on Sept. 17.

Members of the trio allegedly stole a dog, assaulted a woman and fired a shotgun inside the home before leaving.

The 15-year-old was then allegedly in possession of the shotgun at a residence at the 200 block of 15th Street, where a woman was threatened and locked in a closet not long after the incident on 9th Street, according to police.

A 30-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were arrested within days for their alleged involvement.

The boy was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Theft Under $5,000, police said.

The gun still hasn't been recovered, police said.

The Sept. 17 incident was the first in a string of three shootings in the Wheat City over the course of eight days. Police are still looking into the possibility that all three shootings are connected.
