Calgary man faces 2 counts of attempted murder in Brandon shooting
61-year-old charged in connection with Thursday incident that sent 2 to hospital
Police in Brandon, Man., have charged a Calgary man in connection with a shooting Thursday afternoon that sent a man and a teenaged girl tohospital.
Police say the victims, a 39-year-old manand a 16-year-old girl, both from the southwestern Manitoba city,were shot with a shotgun during arobbery at a business onHighland Avenue near First Street, adjacent to theTrans-Canada Highway.
Both victims were rushed to hospital in Brandon, and the teenagevictim was latertaken to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg 200 kilometres to the east with what are believed to benon-life threatening injuries.
Police have charged a 61-year-old man from Calgary with two counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent and obtaining sexual services for consideration.
The accused appeared inBrandon court Friday and has been remanded into custody.
Police continue toinvestigate.
