Charges laid in Pritchard Avenue fire, death of Justin Chezick

A man has been charged with second-degreemurder andarson in connection with the death ofJustinChezick.

Romeo Ryle turned himself in to police on Monday.

The body ofChezick, 42, was foundJuly 20inside a fire-damaged house on the600 block of Pritchard Avenuein the city's North End.

Members of the Winnipeg police homicide unit had earlieridentified Ryleasa suspectbut attempts to locate him were unsuccessful so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Ryle is detained in custody.
