Late into the evening, the NDP were leading or elected in 37 seats, equalling their 2007 total. The Progressive Conservatives had elected 19, the same number they held when the house dissolved.

Kirkfield Park

In Kirkfield Park,PCcandidate Kelly de Groot was defeated by the NDP's Sharon Blady by 29 votes, according to Elections Manitoba unofficial results.There was some confusion at the end of the night over whether "institutional" polls had been counted. Institutional polls are votes cast at hospitals, prisons, etc.

St. Norbert

In St. Norbert,PC candidate Karen Velthuys trailed NDP candidate Dave Gaudreau by157 votes at the end of the night, according to Elections Manitoba unofficial results.

Manitoba law requires a mandatory recount where the margin is 50 votes or less.
