Coun. Marty Morantz officially welcomed into Winnipeg city hall fold

Winnipeg's city council is now complete.

Charleswood-TuexedoCoun.Marty Marantz was sworn in at Winnipeg city hall Friday morning, after missing Tuesday's official ceremony for the new mayor and councillors.

He was absent from that ceremony because his father had just died.

"I am sure my dad is smiling down on me today," Morantzsaid on Friday.

The new councillor has also been appointed as chair of the finance committee and been given a spot in the mayor's executive policy committee.
