Henderson Highway crash sends 2 women to hospital

A crash in East Kildonan sent two women to hospital and shut down parts of HendersonHighway Saturdaynight..

The collision between an SUV and car happened on HendersonHighway nearMcLeodAvenue in front of the Curtis Gordon Motor Hotel at around8:45 p.m.

Winnipeg Police Service says a northbound vehicle hit a southbound vehicle that was making a left-hand turn.

Police say one woman was sent to hospital inserious condition and has since been upgraded to stable.The other woman sustained minor injuries.

Speed is considered a factor, police said.

Winnipeg police were still at the crash site as of 11a.m. Sunday. The northbound lane of Henderson Highway remains closed while police investigate.
