Minivan driver arrested in crash that sent motorcyclist to hospital in Winnipeg

A motorcyclist was sent tohospital and the driver of a minivan was put in handcuffs aftera crash early Wednesday in Winnipeg's Elmwood neighbourhood.

A motorcyclist was sent tohospital and the driver of a minivan was put in handcuffs aftera crash early Wednesday in Winnipeg's Elmwood neighbourhood.

The collision alsoclosed TalbotAvenue betweenBrazier and Stadaconastreets. The road remained closed as of 10:30 a.m.

Police were called around 6:10 a.m. about the crash at Talbotand Levis Street, which left the motorcycle with a twisted front wheel and surrounded by debris from broken parts.

The minivan sat parked next to a nearby curb, the right front corner and windshield smashed.

The driver of the van ran from the scene but was arrested about an hour later. Police have not said whatcharges he faces.

Police have not released any information about the condition of the man who was driving the motorcycle.
