It happened around 2:50 a.m. on Roblin Boulevard, between Dieppe Road and Harstone Road, when the vehicle was travellingwestbound on Roblin. Police said the vehicle was moving at a high speed when the driver lost control.

"The driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll and eventually come to a stop in an eastbound lane," police said in a Friday news release.

The vehicle ended up on its side, next to the Charleswood Senior Centre. Const. Jason Michalyshen said it may have hit a tree on its way.

"So a very violent collision," Michalyshen said. "Thankfully we're not talking about any fatalities here, but I did receive information that one of the female occupants sustained very serious injuries."

Michalyshen said the vehicle's speed was a factor in the crash, and police haven't ruled out the possibility that alcohol was involved.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at204-986-6271.

"Anybody that heard anything, saw anything we're asking them to give us a call," said Const. Jason Michalyshen.

He said the vehicle, a 2007 Saturn Vue,may have been stolen from the east part of the city.

The investigation continues.
