The incident happened on Oct. 16 at about 1:50 a.m., Dauphin RCMP said Monday.

Two men forced their way through a door and assaulted a 65-year-old man, police said. He was taken to hospital, treated for his injuries and released.

Police said the two peopleboth have slender builds and are about six feet tall. Both were wearing hooded jackets, one grey and the other black, RCMP said.

"This appears to be an isolated incident," Dauphin RCMP detachment commander Staff Sgt. Nolan Suss said in a news release.

Dauphin is about 250 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
