Want to be in A Dog's Purpose, the Dennis Quaid movie filming in Winnipeg? If you're free tomorrow, you could appear in a carnival scene.

The casting company that's working on the film is urgently seeking 200 additional paid extras who could be available for a shoot outside the city starting Wednesday afternoon.

In a message posted on its Facebook page, Kari Casting said it's looking for "nice, wholesome looking folks" of all ethnic backgrounds, between the ages of 18 and 40.

A Dog's Purpose,based on a New York Times bestseller and starring Quaid, isshooting in Winnipeg through October. Some scenes have also been shot in Virden, Man.

The story is told from the perspective of a dog who is reincarnated several times between the 1960s and 1990s. It's set in small-town America, hence the search for"wholesome" looking characters.

The scene that will be shot on Wednesday involves "townfolk attending a carnival" in 1972, according to the casting company.

Anyone who's interested in being an extra must email info@karicasting.com right away with their name and contact number, their height and weight, and a photograph of themselves taken on Tuesday from the waist up. Prospective extras must also confirm whether they are available from 2 p.m. Wednesday to about 2 a.m. Thursday.
