Public asked for help in solving disappearance of 21-year-old Manitoba woman

It's been two weeks since anybody has seen or heardfrom Christine Wood, 21, of Oxford House First Nation, and her family members are beyond concerned, a spokeswoman for theCanadian Centre for Child Protection says.

"As people head into the long weekend, we are asking them to keep Christine at top of mind. We need the public to help us find her," said Christy Dzikowicz, the organization's director of missing children services.

"Any information, no matter how small, could be that piece of information that helps bring her home to her family."

Wood vanished in Winnipeg while accompanyinga family member to a medical appointment in the city. She left their downtownhotel Aug. 19 in the evening and never returned.

The young woman attended the University of Winnipeg and is familiar with the city, said her family.

She is 5-6", with an average build and shoulder-length dark brown hair. She may be carrying a white purse.
