Woman rushed to hospital after Fort Garry house fire

A woman was rushed to thehospital in critical condition after a house fire in Fort Garry Friday night.

Winnipeg fire crews were called to ahouse fire on the 800 block of LyonStreet around 9:50 p.m.

The single-story home was ablaze and firefighters had to force their way in, fire officials said. The woman was found unconscious inside.

She was taken to hospital in critical condition but ithas since been upgraded to stable, police said.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but police said it doesn't appear to be suspicious.

The damage is estimated at $200,000.
