Man wanted after shots fired, woman assaulted in Brandon home

Police in Brandon have charged a man and woman in connection with two incidents in the city involving a firearm on Saturday, but a third suspect is still at large.

Police in Brandon have charged a man and woman in connection with two separate incidents in the city involving a firearm onSaturday, but a third suspect is still at large.

Officers were called to a home at about 5:30 p.m. after twomen and awoman got into a dispute with another couple inside the residence in the 800 block of 9th Street.

Police say a 30-year-old woman assaulted the other woman witha set of keys while one ofthe men pointeda shotgun at residents in the home.

The 29-year-old male suspectfired his rifle as he left the home with the other two suspectsand nobody was injured,police said in a news release.

A short time later police said the same suspectarmedwith the riflewent toan apartment in the 200 block of 15th Street where a woman was threatened by him and another manarmed with a knife.

The victim was locked inside a bedroom but she eventually escapedand called police.

Police say both incidents are related. The female suspect from the 9th Street incident was found and arrested a short time later. She was charged with assault with a weapon, public mischief and breach of recognizance.

The man involved in both incidents still hasn't been found. He'sfacing a number of firearms related offences, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, andthreatening to cause injury or death and theft under $5,000, police said.

Police are still investigating the second man's involvement.

Police believe the incidents are not random and everyone involved is known to each other.

The investigation is ongoing.
