The food bank says a recent influx of refugee families into Manitoba has put a strain on its ability to feed people in need.

Winnipeg Harvest is banking on thegenerosity of Manitobans to help it through its current food shortage.

Thefood bank saysarecent influx of refugee families into Manitoba has put a strain on its ability to feed people in need.

Rice andcanned soup, fruit, vegetables,beans,peas and lentils are among the items food bank staff say theyurgently need.

"Please help us stock our shelves for these families," a spokesperson with Winnipeg Harvest said.

Food and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Winnipeg Harvest building located at1085 Winnipeg Ave.
