Fire crews from Manitoba and Ontario are battling a wildfire of approximately 200 to 250hectares on Thursday night, according to a spokesperson from the Manitoba government.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)say the fireforced the evacuation of the small community of Ingolf, Ont.Approximately 100 people are affected by the blaze, which is currently situated north of Highway 17, police say.

Volunteer firefighters from Ingolf are working with the OPP to evacuate the town.

Meanwhile, residents of Manitoba's Florence and Marion Lakes areas are being asked to consider leaving their homes until the threat has passed, the spokesperson said.

Water bombers from both provinces have been used to diminish the fire.

At this time, Ontario is mostly managing the fire because winds are expected to push it further east and burn bans are currently in place in eastern, central and western areas of Manitoba due to dry conditions.
