Winnipeg brothers tackle gaming marathon for Children's Hospital Foundation

Two Tyndall Park brothers are using their well-honed video gaming skills to help sick Winnipeg children.

Deril and Dannyel Carranza are hosting a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money for Winnipeg's Children's Hospital Foundation.

The marathon, being hosted on social video platform Twitch, will run until 10 a.m. CT on Sunday.

By 7:15 p.m. CT, the brothers had already raised $931USD towardtheir $1,000 goal.

Dannyel, 19, said the children's charity was chosen because children in hospital can't be at home doing normal things like playing video games.

And with the large number of video gamers making money off of competitive gaming today the brothers are among them they wanted to do what they could to contribute.

"From our own house we can make a difference," he said.
