It's been two years since Althea Guiboche started handing out bannock to Winnipeg's homeless.

She celebrated on Sunday by serving roast beef in a mashed potato bowl to people on Main Street.

Guiboche, who experienced homelessness herself, relies on donations to keep the operation going.

Got Bannock started out small and now many have come to rely on Guiboche's generosity.

"I didn't have much reserves myself, and everyone was like do you have a plan, and I was it's hard to plan when you don't have much," Guiboche said. "I was just at the mercy of the donators, so look at what they did today."

Guiboche and her crew of volunteers are out at Main Street and Dufferin Avenueevery other Sunday.

A fundraising event called "Got Art?"is being held on March 22to help raise money to get the Bannock Lady a food truck.
