Man taken to hospital after being injured in northeast Winnipeg home invasion

A Winnipeg man was taken to hospital early Friday after he suffered injuries during an invasion at a home in the city's River East neighbourhood, police say.

A Winnipeg man was taken to hospital early Friday after he suffered injuries during an invasion at a home in the city's River East neighbourhood, police say.

Officers were called to a home on the 100 block of Emerson Avenue, just east of Henderson Highway and close to the Perimeter,around 3:45 a.m. with a report of the invasion.

Two men, ages19 and 20,were at the home when two other males brokein, police said in a news release Friday.

One of the residents was assaulted by theintruders, who alsostole property from the home before fleeing down Henderson Highway.

The injured man wastaken to hospitalin stable condition.

Police say they're still investigating,but don't have a description of the attackers at this time.
