Michael Hutchinson took a moment to let the reality of his dream sink in.

Then he got down to business.

The 24-year-old rookiegoaltender for the Winnipeg Jets played in his first-ever NHL regular-season game on Monday night, stopping all but one shot that came his way.

Unfortunately, that one goal was all the Minnesota Wild needed to seal a win, dropping the Jets 1-0 in Winnipeg.

Despite the loss, Hutchinson told reporters after the game that the experience was a positive one.

"As soon as you step out on the ice, the rink's so loud, and when you hear your name announced and everyone cheering that's when you kind of take that secondto really enjoy it and kind of realize where you are," he said.

"You only have one first game."
