Rescue crews, volunteers search for man near Brandon-area campground

Multiple Manitoba search and rescue agenciesand volunteers are searching areas near the Grand Valley Park campground near Brandon after a man went missing Friday morning.

Jordan Ross, 41, was last seen around 8:15 a.m. Friday, RCMP Sgt. Paul Manaigre said in a statement Saturday evening. He'd left home near the campgroundto do some work there.

Ross's vehicle was later found parked close to the nearbyAssiniboine River, Manaigre said.Grand Valley Park, a private campground on leased provincial land, is located in southwestern Manitoba, a few minutes northwest of Brandon.

Friday night, volunteers on foot along with aircraft and Zodiac boats took part in the search. Saturday, it was expanded to include RCMP search and rescue, the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) and more volunteers, police said.

Ross is five feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He is bald, has blue eyes andpolice believe he left homewearing black ankle boots.
