Man's death in Winnipeg's Exchange District considered suspicious, police say

A man who was critically injuredearlier this month in Winnipeg's Exchange Districthas died, and police aretreating the death as suspicious.

A man who was critically injuredearlier this month in Winnipeg's Exchange Districthas died, and police aretreatingthe death as suspicious.

Kyle Beardy, 35, was rushed to hospitalon the evening of May 6 following an assault near Siloam Mission on Princess Avenue and Henry Street, according to a news release from police.

Beardy, originally fromSt. Theresa Point First Nation but living in Winnipeg at the time,has since died from his injuries, the release stated but did not say when.

An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of his death.

The police service's major crimes unit is investigating and anyone with informationis asked to call 204-986-6219.
