3 boys charged with armed robbery of Winnipeg liquor store

Boys age 14, 15 and 17 are in police custody, accused of pointing a gun at employees while robbing a liquor store in Winnipeg.

Police were called around 8:30 p.m. Thursday to the Liquor Mart Express inside Safeway on Jefferson Avenue at McPhillips Street.

Three boys went tothe store but just one went inside, where he grabbed twobottles of liquor before running towardthe exit, police said.

That's when another boyentered the store and pointed a handgun at staff.All three then ran away, police said.

Three boyswere found nearby in the lane ofMapleglenDrive.

Police recovered the liquor and seized a silverimitation handgun.

The14-year-old and 17-year-old are both charged with several firearms-related offences as well as failure to comply with court orders.

The15-year-oldis charged with armed robbery.
