Man charged with attempted murder after RCMP officer shot

A 48-year-old man has been charged in connection with the shooting of a Manitoba RCMP officer.

A 48-year-old man has beencharged in connection with the shooting of a ManitobaRCMPofficer.

The manis charged with two counts of attempt murder, two counts of uttering threats to kill, two counts of assault, and two firearms-related offences.

The officer, whose injuries are non-life-threatening, is recovering and hasbeen released fromhospital.

The shooting happened in the evening of May 15, shortly after officers responded to an assaultcomplaint at aresidence in the community ofKemnay, about 10 kilometres west of Brandon.

When the officers arrived, at about6:30 p.m.,the 48 year oldthreatened them and shotat them, hittingone,RCMPsaid.

The investigation, led by theRCMP'smajor crime services, is ongoing and no other information is available.
