Manitoba has declared a provincial state of emergency ascommunities brace for floodwaters flowing east from Saskatchewan in the coming days.

Heavy rainfall in the last week of June washed out roads and highways, filled people's basements with water, and forced the evacuation of hundreds of homes in the province's southwest and Interlake region.
