Hot and humid weather continues Sunday in Manitoba

Sunday is going to be another hot and humid day in Manitoba, prompting Environment Canada to again issue heat warnings in parts of the province Sunday morning. But cooler weather could be on the way later in the week.

Sunday is going to be another hot and humid day in Manitoba, prompting Environment Canada to again issueheat warnings in parts of the province. But cooler weather could be on the way later in the week.

The heat warnings stretch from The Pas, Man.,near the Saskatchewan border, east to Red Sucker Lake, near the Ontario border.

Temperatures there could reach 29C or higher.

In the south, the hot and humid air mass continues to hang over the area. The high in Winnipeg could reach 32 C on Sunday. Whiletemperatures are not expected to reach levels where Environment Canada would issue a heat warning for the region, a special weather statement was reissued Sunday for the city of Winnipeg and southeastern Manitoba.

The heat is expected to break Monday as a cold air mass moves into the Red River Valley, with a with a chance of thunderstorms in Winnipeg on Monday afternoon. Temperatures will keep falling until about mid-week, then start to rise again heading into next weekend.
