The Manitoba Party is now officially registered to run in this spring's provincial election.

The party has endorsed at least 11 candidates to date and filed the required paperwork, Elections Manitoba announced on Thursday.

Under the provincial Election Financing Act, a political party can register either by endorsing at least five candidates in the current election or by filing a petition with the signatures of at least 2,500 eligible voters.

Manitoba Party candidates who are listed on Elections Manitoba's website so far include party president Gary Marshall (Kildonan) and former Winnipeg civic candidate Joe Chan (Logan).

Manitobans will go to the polls on April 19.
