Manslaughter charge laid after Winnipeg hotel fall

A manslaughter charge has now been laid in the death of a man who fell from a third-floor window of a downtown Winnipeg hotel.

A manslaughter charge has now been laid in the death of a man who fell from a third-floor window of a downtown Winnipeg hotel.

Christopher Paul Maier, a 42-year-old Winnipeg resident, died in hospital after he was found critically injured late Monday night outside the Royal Albert Arms hotel.

Police say Maier fell from his suite after fleeing to the room for safety, followed by a person who had just been in a fight with him.

Adam John Perrier, who is 33, faces other charges that include break and enter and forcible confinement.

The Winnipeg man remains in custody.
