Winnipeg masked teen with fake gun granted bail

The masked teen who was arrested for waving a fake gun at Portage and Main was released from jail on Friday on tight bail conditions.

The teen who walked into traffic at Portage and Main wearing a mask and holding a fake gun was granted bail on Friday.

The 17-year-old was arrested on July 19 and charged with mischiefendangering life and disguise with intent, among other charges.

She cannot be named because of the youth criminal justice act.

The judge released the teen on what she called tight bail conditions. The teen is not allowed to possess aweapon, ingestdrugs or alcohol, and must abide bya curfew. She must alsoreceivemental health treatment and takeher medication.

She was also ordered to contact the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba for an assessment and must complete any programming they recommend.

Court heard the accused met with a doctor and a mental health assessment was completed.

The teen is due back in court later this month on her six charges.
