A massive, 12-metre-long mural is going up at The Forks on Wednesday as part of the lead up to the Canada Summer Games.

The mural is a collaboration between local artists Kenneth Lavallee and Takashi Iwasaki. Lavallee also designed the medals to be awarded at the Games.

Synonym Art Consultation brought the pair in to collaborate on the public art piece, which will become a permanent fixture at The Forks site.

The piece will be displayed on The Forks parking garage.
