10-year-old girl who'd been missing found safe

A 10-year-old girl who went missing from the North End last week has been found safe, Winnipeg police say.

The police service had issued a news release on Sept. 25, asking the public to keep an eye out for the girl, who went missing the previous evening in the city's North End.

Police believed she was still in the neighbourhood somewherebut did not elaborate, only saying they were concerned about herwell-being.

An update from police on Monday saidthe girl was found and is safe. No other information was provided.

A previous version of this story contained the girl's name and photo. Those have beenremoved to protect her identity because she is a minor.
