Motorcyclist dies in crash with SUV on southern Manitoba highway
RCMP say the SUV pulled into the motorcyclist's lane while trying to pass another vehicle
A 49-year-old man is dead after anSUVcollided withhis motorcycleon a highway in the rural municipality of Roland,RCMP say.
Pembina Valley RCMP officers were calledto the two-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Highway 3 between Road 26N and 27N.
RCMP said an SUV travelling northpulled into the oncoming traffic lane while trying to pass another vehicle. A motorcycle was travelling southon the highway when the SUV pulled out, police said.
Both drivers swerved to the same highway shoulder to avoid crashing, but they collided head-on, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.
The motorcycle rider,from the community ofSchoenwiese, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not identify him.
The SUV driver, a 20-year-old woman, was not injured.
RCMP said they are continuing to investigate. No charges have been laid.
