'MrJetzTV' facing more child pornography charges

A Winnipeg man who ran for public office in 2012 is now facing multiple child pornography charges.

Darrell Erwin Ackman, a Winnipeg man whoposted online videos under the moniker "MrJetzTV,"is facing more child pornography charges.

Winnipeg police say they charged Ackman, 43,on Tuesday, after investigators searched laptop computers and electronic recording devices they had seized from a Tuxedo-area home in July 2012.

Police say they discovered child pornography on the devices.The images were related to four victims between the ages of 14 and 22, they said.

Ackman is now facing multiple charges, including printing or publishing child pornography, possession of child pornography and living off the avails of prostitution.

"This is pretty despicable behaviour," Const. Jason Michalyshen told reporters on Friday.

"This is a type of behaviour that members of the Winnipeg Police Service take incredibly seriously. It's putting young people in incredibly bad situations.

Previously charged last year

Ackman was charged last summerwith making and publishing child pornography, living off the avails of prostitution, sexual assault and sexual interference.

Those charges were related to four girls, all of whom were 14 years old and considered to be at-risk youth, police said at the time. Police said at the time they were trying to locate an additional eight victims under the age of 18.

Ackmanran an unsuccessful campaignto become the MLA for Winnipeg's Fort Whyte riding that fall.

On Friday, Ackman told CBC News he was no longer in police custody but was subject to a number of conditions, including not having access to a computer or cellphone, not contacting anyone under the age of 18, and notvisiting any shopping malls or hockey arenas. Ackman said he has a 6 p.m. curfew.
