New Winnipeg casino event centre shapeshifts to suit crowd

A Winnipeg casino has undergone some impressive renovations.

Club Regents new event centre is a mechanical marvel that seatsover 1,000 people.It can also bend and fold-in on itself to accommodate smaller parties and banquets.

The full theatre fits up to 1,400 people. But with the flip of a switch, the floor collapses, retracts andthe seats are either swallowed up or reshuffled like a row of dominoes to suit smaller events.

The 11,580 square-foot venue cost more than $51 million to build.
