Police armoured vehicle used at gun-call incident in North End
Winnipeg police have taken a number of people into custody after being called about a gun in the city's North Endon Wednesday.
Officers were calledjust after midnight toa home onCathedral Avenue, nearParr Street.
Theylaterblocked Cathedral fromArlington Street to McKenzie Street, preventing pedestrians and vehicles from going down the street, and brought out theirarmoured response vehicle.
"We received some information with respect to concerns regarding an individual or individuals at that location, the potential of it being a volatile situation, presence of weapons, etc.," said police spokesman Const.Jason Michalyshen.
The armoured response vehicleshieldedofficerswho used a bullhorn to call people out of a house, ordering eachto walkbackwardto the ARV with their hands in the air.
The scene was cleared and the road reopened around 11:30 a.m., but police have not provided further information about the incident.
