An 11-year-old Ottawa girl, who has raised money for polar bear conservation, is in Winnipeg to see a polar bear for the very first time. CBC's Marjorie Dowhos reports.

An 11-year-old Ottawa girl,who has raised money for polar bear conservation, is in Winnipeg to see a polar bear for the very first time.

Olivia Clement made handmade polar bear figurines and sold them, raising $12,000and donated the money to the World Wildlife Fund.

The girl, who loves polar bears, also wrote to Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park Zoo asking about the new Journey to Churchill exhibitand the care the animals received.

On Friday, Olivia and her mom were guests at the zoo. They weregiven a tour of the exhibit andmet thefour resident polar bears Hudson, Storm,KaskaandAurora.

Olivia will be back at the zoo again on Saturday, this time to sell her polar bear figurines and raise more money.
