4-year-old boy drowns near Oxford House First Nation

A young boy has drowned near Oxford House First Nation in northern Manitoba.

Foul play not suspected at this time, RCMP say

A young boy has drowned nearOxford House First Nation in northern Manitoba.

RCMP say they received a report at 1 a.m. Friday about the four-year-old, who was last seen near his home on Thursday.

Patrols found the child close to shore ina nearby lake. He was taken to a nursing station, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they are investigating the death, but foul play is not suspected at this time.

The community of Oxford House is about 575 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
