Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in downtown Winnipeg

A woman hit by an SUV in downtown Winnipeg on Monday afternoon has died.

Police were called to the intersection of St. Mary Avenue and CarltonStreet just after 4 p.m. after two pedestrians were hit by by the SUV.

The woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and the second pedestrian and the driver of the SUV were also taken to hospital.

Police said on Tuesday morning that the woman has died.

Police have not provided her exact age or where she is from.

Const. TammySkrabeksaid the Winnipeg police traffic unit is still investigating the crash andat this point, no charges have been laid.
