4 young people in pickup truck fled after hitting pedestrian in Selkirk, Manitoba RCMP say

Manitoba RCMP are looking for a group of young people who were in a pickup truck involved in a hit and run that injured a pedestrian in Selkirk last week.

The collision happened at around 2:40 p.m. on Friday near Sophia Street and Rosser Avenue in Selkirk, police said ina news release Wednesday.

A 22-year-old man was crossing the street when he was struck by apickup truck.

A passerby located the victim shortly after the crash. The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he was treated and has since been released.

The vehicle that hit him was described as agrey-coloured Ford F-150,with four people described as teens inside.

Police said the truck and its occupantsfled from the scene on the vehicle.

RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the vehicle or its occupants. Anyone with information is asked to contact Selkirk RCMP at 204-482-1222 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
