A teen girl was arrested after she was found with a bag holding a sawed-off shotgun and shells as she left an apartment in Winnipeg's Spence neighbourhood, police say.

Officers were called to an apartment complex on Young Street near Ellice Avenue on July 10 at about 1:30 p.m. CT to investigate reports of a dispute.

The person renting the suite was in hospital, Const. Jay Murray said.

Whentwo building managers went to change the locks, theywere confronted by two females.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old girl after searching a bag she allegedly removed from the suite. It had a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition inside, Murray said.
