Police pull body from pond off Keewatin Street, Selkirk Avenue

Winnipeg police pulled the body of a male from a city pond in Woodsworth Park off Keewatin Avenue Sunday.

Large police presence remained for hours while officers investigated

Winnipeg police pulled the body of a male from a city pond inWoodsworthPark offKeewatinAvenue Sunday.

The body is an adult male but his identity isn't yet known.

Neighbours tell CBC fire crews and a water rescue team arrived around 12:30 p.m. and then police came after.

At least six police vehicles were still near the shores of thepond betweenSelkirkand Park Lane avenues shortly before4 p.m.

Const. Rob Carver saidpolice were called about "suspicious circumstances" in the park at about 1:15 p.m., but it's not yet clear if foul play may have been involved.
